La excursi\u00f3n comienza en Casa Congo, donde embarcar\u00e1s para iniciar la aventura. S\u00fabete a un kayak para dos personas \u2014que cuenta con un espacio especial para ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os\u2014 y rema a trav\u00e9s de un hermoso paisaje repleto de manglares y vida silvestre.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El gu\u00eda es un especialista en conservaci\u00f3n, y los ingresos de esta excursi\u00f3n se destinan a la protecci\u00f3n del Parque Nacional Portobelo. Los habitantes locales todav\u00eda extraen carb\u00f3n de los manglares. El turismo, como fuente de ingresos, garantiza la sostenibilidad de la zona.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Establecido en 1976, el Parque Nacional Portobelo abarca 35.929 hect\u00e1reas. De ellas, 15.465 hect\u00e1reas corresponden a bosques primarios surcados por numerosos r\u00edos y cascadas. Aproximadamente el 20% del parque es zona marina, la cual incluye manglares, playas y arrecifes de coral. En Portobelo tambi\u00e9n se pueden realizar actividades como el esn\u00f3rquel y el buceo. La bah\u00eda de Portobelo forma parte asimismo del parque nacional. Esta bah\u00eda alberga uno de los puertos m\u00e1s hermosos e hist\u00f3ricos del Caribe, as\u00ed como fortificaciones coloniales, entre las que destacan los fuertes de San Fernando, Santiago y San Jer\u00f3nimo. Estas fortificaciones han sido declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO desde 1980.      <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante su excursi\u00f3n en kayak por los manglares de Portobelo, podr\u00e1 observar diversas especies de aves, como el \u00e1guila pescadora, el busardo de los manglares, el avetoro tigre barreteado, el mart\u00edn pescador del istmo y el busardo negro. La tortuga carey, especie en peligro cr\u00edtico de extinci\u00f3n, anida en las playas de la zona.
