Pipeline Road Hike

1 Día

Pipeline Road was named in the 1940s when Allied forces created a path through the forest for a pipeline that was never completed. The trail stretches for 17 kilometers and typically takes about three hours to traverse, requiring a moderate level of physical activity. It is shaded and relatively flat, making the hike manageable for most. Early morning visits are recommended for better opportunities to observe wildlife.

Soberania National Park is home to over 350 species of birds, making it a popular destination for birdwatching among Audubon Society members. Visitors can expect to see various birds, including golden-collared manakins, keel-billed toucans, whooping motmots, several species of trogons, parrots, raptors, and hummingbirds. Guides are available to assist in spotting these birds, as well as other wildlife such as butterflies, amphibians, monkeys, iguanas, coatis, and sloths.
