Boquete Honey Tasting is a unique sensory experience that you can add to your itinerary while visiting this charming mountain town. This activity is hosted by APIMA—the oldest commercial honey brand in Panama, with over 50 years of history. You will learn about the company’s background and the processes involved in bringing their honey to market. It is a family-run business with more than 100 employees and a strong presence throughout Panama. Discover everything that goes into providing fresh, authentic honey—just as if it had been freshly harvested from the hive.
Participants can also observe a full-scale beehive, making for an experience that is both educational and fun. The facilities also offer a bee tour, which can be booked separatel, where you can take an active part in the honey production and extraction process.
You will have the chance to sample three different types of honey, as well as pollen in its natural state. The experience includes a visual «aroma wheel» to help you identify the various scents and flavors you detect. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to craft your very own beeswax candle to take home as a souvenir!
